Acne

Acne is a very common skin condition that can affect people of any age. Acne can be caused by numerous underlying factors, such as hormonal changes, excess oil production, clogged pores because of dead skin cells, inflammation, and the actions of the p.acnes bacteria. While there are many over-the-counter treatments available, persistent acne should be treated using medical-grade skincare products or RF microneedling that address the root cause of your concerns.

Eczema

Eczema, also known as dermatitis, is a group of conditions that cause the skin to become inflamed or irritated. There are different types of eczema, but the most common form is atopic dermatitis, which leads to dry skin, inflammation, and itchy skin. Eczema is not curable, but it can be managed. There is no one-size-fits-all treatment for eczema, but some of the possible treatment options include topical medications, anti-inflammatory drugs, and moisturizers.

Fungal Infections

When you think of fungal infections, you probably think of an athlete’s foot or ringworm. But there are many different types of fungal infections, and they can affect different parts of the body. Fungal infections are caused by a type of fungi called dermatophytes. They’re usually harmless, but they can sometimes overgrow and cause an infection. Fungal infections can cause itchiness, redness, scaling, and cracking. Treatment options include antifungal creams or oral antifungal medication.

Hives

Hives, also called urticaria, are raised, itchy welts that appear on the skin. They can be triggered by a variety of things, including allergies, emotional stress, medications, heat, or infections. Hives can be very uncomfortable, and they can occur anywhere on the body. Dermatologists can identify the cause of hives and provide the appropriate treatments, which may include topical antihistamines, corticosteroid injections, oral corticosteroids, or other treatments.

Infections

Skin infections can be caused by bacteria, fungi, or parasites. Skin infections often start out as a small red bump that can quickly turn into a larger sore. The bumps may be itchy, painful, or have pus. There are many different types of skin infections, but some of the most common include cellulitis, folliculitis, and impetigo. Treatment often depends on the type of infection, but some of the most common treatments include antibiotics, antifungals, and antiparasitic medications.

Rashes

A rash is a change in the human skin which affects its color, appearance, or texture. A rash may be localized in one part of the body or affect all the skin. Rashes are usually caused by infections of the skin, allergies, or irritants. Your dermatologist or medical provider can determine the root cause of rashes, such as infections or allergies, and prescribe the appropriate treatment. Depending on the cause, your treatment may include antibiotics, antihistamines, creams, or ointments.

Rosacea

Rosacea is a chronic and often progressive skin condition that primarily affects the face. The condition is characterized by redness of the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead. Rosacea can also cause burning and stinging sensations, as well as skin dryness, thickening, and scaling. Rosacea can’t be cured, but the symptoms can be minimized or controlled with topical medications, oral antibiotics, IPL therapy, and other possible treatments. Your medical provider will recommend treatment based on the severity of your symptoms.

Warts

Warts are growths on the skin that are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). HPV is a very common virus that is spread through skin-to-skin contact. There are more than 100 types of HPV, and different types can cause warts on different parts of the body. There is no cure for HPV, but there are treatments, such as over-the-counter medications, cryotherapy, laser therapy, and more. Our medical providers and nurse practitioners examine your warts and recommend the appropriate treatment and preventative measures.

Skin Tags & Moles

Skin tags and moles are common growths on the skin that can cause embarrassment and anxiety. Although they are benign or non-cancerous, they can be unsightly and uncomfortable. Skin tags are small, flesh-colored growths that tend to form in areas where the skin rubs together, such as the neck, armpits, and groin. Moles are dark brown or black, flat or raised growths commonly found on the face, neck, chest, and back.

While skin tags and moles are not usually dangerous, some people may want to have them removed for cosmetic reasons. We offer a variety of treatments for skin tags and moles, including freezing, burning, and laser surgery. We also offer tips on how to prevent skin tags. For example, if you have a high risk of skin tags, you should avoid wearing loose-fitting clothing and avoid friction on the skin.
