Cold & Flu
A cold is a viral infection of the upper respiratory system, which includes the nose, sinuses, throat, and bronchial tubes. The most common symptom of a cold is a runny nose, although other symptoms can include a sore throat, congestion, sneezing, and coughing. The flu is also a viral infection but can cause more severe symptoms, such as fever, chills, body aches, fatigue, coughing, and congestion. If you have a cold or the flu, we may recommend rest, fluids, and over-the-counter medications, like decongestants and antiviral medication.
Fever
A fever is a sign that your body is fighting an infection. A normal body temperature is around 98.6°F (37°C). A fever is when your body temperature is above that. A reading of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher is considered a fever. There are different types of fevers, and each type has its own set of symptoms and treatments. The most common type of fever is caused by an infection, such as the flu or a cold. If you have a fever, we can relieve your symptoms and aid recovery.
Sore Throat
A sore throat is a general term used to describe an achy, painful, or scratchy sensation in the throat. Many things can cause a sore throat, such as allergies, viruses, and bacteria. The first step in treating a sore throat is to identify the cause. If the sore throat is due to a viral infection, there is no specific cure. However, there are things that can be done to ease the symptoms, such as gargling warm salt water and taking over-the-counter pain relievers, such as ibuprofen.
Seasonal Allergy
Seasonal allergies are a type of allergy that occurs during specific seasons. Seasonal allergies can be caused by many things, including pollen, dust, mold, and pet dander. If you think you may have a seasonal allergy, we can help you determine the root cause of your allergies and curate a treatment plan to manage symptoms. We may offer over-the-counter and prescription medications to treat your seasonal allergies and offer advice on avoiding triggers. In some cases, allergy shots may be recommended to help you build a tolerance to the allergens.
General Injury/Illness
When you’re injured or ill, the last thing you want to do is wait in line at the ER or urgent care. That’s why it’s important to have a primary care provider that you trust and feel comfortable with. We can handle a wide range of common injuries and illnesses to help you get back on your feet and prevent future illnesses and injuries. In addition to the conditions mentioned above, we can also offer primary care for sprains and strains, sinus infections, urinary tract infections, cuts and scrapes, and other general injuries and illnesses.
